Date : 1st November 2025
Day : Saturday
Timings : 9 am to 1.45 pm
Attendees : 40 students from G 1- 5 and 3 teachers
Venue : Egmore Museum Theatre

Summary of the Session:

A group of 40 students from Grades 1 to 5 of Hindustan International School, Guindy, accompanied by three teachers, attended a spectacular musical adaptation of Cinderella at the Egmore Museum Theatre. The show began at 10:00 a.m. and concluded at 1:00 p.m.

The performance was a modern-day retelling of the classic Cinderella story, creatively blending traditional charm with contemporary relevance. In this version, the stepsisters are portrayed as social media influencers, constantly curating Insta feeds and seeking validation through appearances. The story beautifully highlighted how today’s society often values outward image over inner goodness, while Cinderella’s true, kind, and genuine nature ultimately wins the Prince’s heart.

The artists enthralled the audience with live singing, expressive dance, and vibrant music, making the experience lively and memorable. The English language and dialogues were fantastic, rich in expression and creativity — an aspect that students of lower and upper secondary grades would have benefitted from even more, given the sophistication of the script and vocabulary.

After the show, the students and teachers enjoyed lunch in the nearby park, surrounded by nature. The children had a wonderful time relaxing, sharing food, and playing together in the open space, making it a joyful end to an enriching outing.

The visit was both educational and inspiring, leaving students with valuable lessons about authenticity, kindness, and the power of inner beauty in an image-driven world.
